What Is Your Electric Cooker & Oven Doing?

Find your symptom below. Most faults come down to an inexpensive part — the skill is identifying the right one instead of replacing the whole appliance.

Oven trips the circuit breaker

Almost always a heating element that has broken down internally and is leaking current to earth. The appliance should not be used until it is repaired.

Not reaching the set temperature

A failed thermostat or temperature sensor, or a partially failed element that still glows but no longer delivers full heat. Both are tested on the visit.

One hob ring not working

Usually the individual radiant element or its selector switch. These can normally be replaced without replacing the whole hob.

Food cooking unevenly

A failed convection fan or fan motor, so hot air is no longer circulated. Often mistaken for a thermostat fault.

Burning smell or scorch marks

Overheated connections at the terminal block or damaged high-temperature cable. This is an urgent safety fault, not cosmetic.

Controls or display not responding

Selector switch, control board or touch panel failure. Tested properly so a whole board is not replaced when a switch is at fault.

How We Repair It

What Happens When Your Cooker Fails

Cooking appliances draw high current. Every repair we do finishes with an electrical safety check before the appliance is handed back.

  • Isolated before inspection. The appliance is isolated at the cooker switch or breaker before any panel is removed. Nothing is tested live that does not need to be.
  • Continuity testing of elements. Elements are measured for resistance and earth leakage — the test that identifies the failed element causing a breaker to trip.
  • Thermostat verified against actual heat. Dial setting is compared with real measured cavity temperature so calibration faults are not mistaken for element faults.
  • Terminal block and cable inspection. High-heat damage at connections is a common and dangerous fault, and it is checked on every cooker visit.
  • Electrical safety test before handover. Earth continuity and insulation are confirmed so there is no leakage to the chassis before the appliance goes back into use.

Questions & Answers

Questions We Get Asked Every Day

About electric cooker & oven repair across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.

My oven trips the electricity when I switch it on. What does that mean?
Almost always a failed heating element leaking current to earth. The appliance should not be used until repaired — the fault is electrical, not cosmetic.
The oven does not reach the temperature I set. Why?
Typically a failed thermostat or sensor, or a partially failed element that still glows but no longer delivers full heat. Both are tested during the visit.
One ring on my ceramic hob has stopped. Can that be repaired separately?
Usually yes. Individual radiant elements and selector switches can normally be replaced without replacing the whole hob, provided the glass is intact.
Is a cracked ceramic hob safe to use?
No. A crack lets moisture reach live components underneath and is a genuine electrical risk. Isolate it and have it inspected before further use.
Do you work on gas cookers too?
Our focus is electric cookers, ovens, ceramic hobs and induction cooktops. Please describe your appliance when booking so the right technician and parts are assigned.
